The oceanfront room offered stunning views every day. I loved hearing the waves crash at night. The private lagoon made for great snorkeling and swimming. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially at check-in. Enjoyed the complimentary mai tais, a nice welcoming touch. However, the restaurant struggled with service. We waited a long time for a table and felt neglected at times. The food didn’t live up to the beautiful setting either, just average at best. Room decor seemed outdated and needed a refresh, some areas felt a bit worn. The lack of communication regarding room changes also left us feeling frustrated. Despite these issues, the beautiful views and the lagoon made this a memorable stay overall.

The location of the hotel is excellent, providing easy access to local attractions and stunning ocean views. However, the room decor feels dated, and I encountered issues with a noisy air conditioning unit during my stay. It's a good option for families looking for a central base, but improvements to the room amenities would enhance the experience.

The Deluxe Partial Ocean View room offers a solid view of the lagoon, which is a gorgeous spot to soak in the sunsets. The private lagoon themselves is perfect for snorkeling, providing a fun escape into a vibrant marine environment.
While the location and setting are stunning, I couldn't help but notice the property's deferred maintenance, especially in the bathrooms where plumbing issues seem to linger. The divider between balconies lacks privacy; I would appreciate a more secluded experience. A snack bar for quick bites would have been a nice touch by the pool area, making it easier to grab refreshments without venturing far.

The large room had air conditioning, a balcony with ocean views, and a refrigerator. Enjoyed the outdoor restaurant with good meals and sunset views. The pool area was great with an outdoor bar and live music. The lagoon was nice for snorkeling. They offer yoga classes and spa treatments too. Staff were friendly and attentive.

The Royal Kona offers an incredible location, just steps from shops and restaurants. The oceanfront views from the spacious room captivated me, and I loved relaxing by the lagoon pool. A couple of maintenance issues and the small bathroom were minor bumps on an otherwise enjoyable stay.

The view from the room was stunning, providing a beautiful backdrop for relaxing moments on the lanai. the room felt dated, with some amenities in need of updating, such as the old bathroom fixtures and worn carpet. The location is convenient, with local dining and entertainment options nearby, but noise from nearby venues may disturb light sleepers.

missingWrote a review on 23 Septstunning lagoonocean viewspicturesque sunsetsoutdated decormaintenance noise
The lagoon offers an immersive snorkeling experience with tropical fish swimming around. Incredible ocean views provide front-row seats to picturesque sunsets from various spots around the resort.
Unfortunately, the outdated room decor detracts from the overall experience, leaving a bit of a vintage motel vibe. The proximity to a maintenance area meant that noise lingered longer than I'd prefer—especially late on a Thursday night. The parking fee of $25 a day was a surprise and felt a bit excessive for this type of resort.
