The oceanfront room offered stunning views every day. I loved hearing the waves crash at night. The private lagoon made for great snorkeling and swimming. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially at check-in. Enjoyed the complimentary mai tais, a nice welcoming touch. However, the restaurant struggled with service. We waited a long time for a table and felt neglected at times. The food didn’t live up to the beautiful setting either, just average at best. Room decor seemed outdated and needed a refresh, some areas felt a bit worn. The lack of communication regarding room changes also left us feeling frustrated. Despite these issues, the beautiful views and the lagoon made this a memorable stay overall.

I loved the spectacular views from the restaurant, saw dolphins right from my table! The overall vibe was relaxing, with beautiful grounds. The food was delicious, especially the nachos!

The Deluxe Partial Ocean View room offers a solid view of the lagoon, which is a gorgeous spot to soak in the sunsets. The private lagoon themselves is perfect for snorkeling, providing a fun escape into a vibrant marine environment.

While the location and setting are stunning, I couldn't help but notice the property's deferred maintenance, especially in the bathrooms where plumbing issues seem to linger. The divider between balconies lacks privacy; I would appreciate a more secluded experience. A snack bar for quick bites would have been a nice touch by the pool area, making it easier to grab refreshments without venturing far.

The large room had air conditioning, a balcony with ocean views, and a refrigerator. Enjoyed the outdoor restaurant with good meals and sunset views. The pool area was great with an outdoor bar and live music. The lagoon was nice for snorkeling. They offer yoga classes and spa treatments too. Staff were friendly and attentive.

The Royal Kona offers an incredible location, just steps from shops and restaurants. The oceanfront views from the spacious room captivated me, and I loved relaxing by the lagoon pool. A couple of maintenance issues and the small bathroom were minor bumps on an otherwise enjoyable stay.
